Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Cold this morning but the sun is trying to break through the cloud, only partially successfully. I have not looked at the weather prediction but I did yesterday and the rain is meant to be back with a vengeance by midweek. I know it is getting colder, not just by the temperature but also the birds are clearing the birdtable very fast now, the youngest pigeons are very keen.
You might remember that I went to a historic house and garden last week - there were some plants that I like and my friend told me that she was thinning out some of these in her garden. Yesterday I had a text telling me that there were plants on my doorstep! I was not expecting the quantity that arrived and had a lovely time planting them out, mostly in the beds but some in tubs and I've been out (in my pjs, a cardigan and furry socks) this morning, they all look ok, bar one which I think will revive. Unfortunately she had to drop and run but she can have the seed I saved for her later, or it could be in the form of seedlings next year.
Last night's dinner was chicken thighs on a bed of roasted veg, potato, onion, sweet potato, butternut squash, carrot and courgette. I have some butternut squash and half a courgette left so that can be turned into soup. That, and the plant swap, is quite mse I think.
Today I need to carry on raking leaves. The garden is very tree-heavy, lovely in spring and summer but hard work when the leaves fall, especially that flaming sycamore, the leaves are huge and prolific. I also need to muck out the bathroom, clean the cooker AGAIN scrub floors, the list goes on but my motivation has deserted me. And the beds need fresh linen. So I think I will do a bit each day rather than try to get everything done and then finding it all needs another go later in the week.
My hands are not too bad this morning, that's a positive thing. And I remembered to charge up my toothbrush, it is very old and doesn't hold a charge long.
Hope everyone has a good day.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back12 -
Morning all,
Rain promised for later in the day and all week, overcast now.......will go out for a little walk while it's dry.
Not sure how drastic our lockdown will be......only seeing my grandchildren maybe once a week, DD4 and family less often as she teaches in a school with 600 pupils so is very careful about bringing any infection in to us.
Am becoming rather uptight about the whole Covid 19 thing......not sure if DS2 can get home for Christmas......he has been hoping to get here for OHs 80th birthday next month, don't think that will happen. I just want it all to be over......
Please take care everybody, we must all stay separate as we can.

Morning all, it's overcast but dry, so I'll take that for now as the rain is due later in the week.DGS has a test booked as he started coughing last night, so better to know than not. They sent all year 5 and 6 home but DGD wasn't amused (Y4) as she had to go to school this morning. I don't think there's a school in the valley that hasn't been affected.Anyway on to today and we have already spent part of this morning trying to unlock our B.soc accounts. I think because I opted to go online with mine too, they locked down both of them as we use the same email address. All sorted now with a lovely local lady.Yesterday I wrapped DGD's presents, luckily I already had a roll of wrapping paper and today I have to finish off 2 birthday cards, they need trimming and glittering ready for her birthday on the 30th. (We made one for Dad to give to her too.) Much more personal than shop bought ... and much cheaper too as we had all the bits and bobs that we need !This afternoon I want to put the fur trim on B's dress, gosh that was hard work trying to turn a tube of fur the right way out !! Then I want to start on the cape again, hopefully if I use a different material it will fall properly and not stick out at right angles like a demented batTea tonight will be meatballs in a tomato sauce with pasta and I will make Dad a spag bol, all ingredients from my stores and freezer.Take care all, stay safe and keep wellnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

Hi everyone,It's been a busy morning so far, a friend returning a tool he borrowed off Dh , so a socially distanced conversation in the front garden, typing a report up for another friend and an unexpected bed delivery for DS2 brought here by mistake. I couldn't move out of the hall so he and DH have picked it up and taken it to DS house. DGDs new bed due tomorrow so hope that goes to DSs house! They also had to take the car in 1st thing, and pick it up this afternoon. It's having a service too so we'll be £1000 lighter by tonight & I'll definitely be looking at MS ways! Think I'll make some soup, oh and thanks Taff for the fajita idea, I've got some Mediterranean chicken out and I have some wraps ( better check the date though
) & plenty of veg.
It's pretty grey here, I was hoping to plant some bulbs we got at the garden centre yesterday so I'll have to see what it's like in a bit. Anyway, have a good day if you can xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10
