O/S Daily Monday 19 October 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark but dry underfoot at the moment.
DH watching catchup tv, and getting ready for work, DS1 is getting ready for work. I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was veg rice, pasta in a sauce and chicken. Tonight menfolk are having roasted pork chops, mash, veg and gravy. I'll be having baked fish, mash and veg.
Back to work today - first day of my working week.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, my first day back too after a week off.
It's very wet and windy here, our dry spell has well and truly finished, looks like it will be wet for a good few days yet. Towel wash on the pulley, I'll do the gardening clothes later.
I sold a mirror yesterday, been meaning to do it for a few years but it hasn't really been in the way so kept forgetting. I've also got something else advertised so we'll see how that goes. I had a good sort out of a few cupboards too yesterday, the bins are nearly full!
Have a happy Monday, take care. XX15 -
Morning folks. This morning I have the delights of visiting the physio again. I'm still waddling a bit like a penguin, though I'm getting better at balancing on my operated leg which is a sign of progress. It's all taking much longer to get back to normal although I'm pain free. It's very wet here, back to rain jacket and goretex shoes. No more scuffing through leaves. ☹️I hope that everyone has a happy Monday.14

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another drab but dry day is forecast then the rain is due back again tomorrow. Not that it matters what it's doing as I won't be going anywhere. It's middle DGDs 12th birthday today, BIL's 70th and my oldest buddie's 75th - hard to believe we have been mates for the 68 years since we met at junior school! All presents have been socially distanced passed over/delivered already so I won't be seeing any of them.
I should get off my arris today as yesterday I spent most of the day on it! I won't have to look far for outstanding jobs. Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care and stay safe one and all x

Grey and yukky here I think we are getting rain later
Washing done for the week just need to do some tidying downstairs
More interview coaching today with my stress bunny customer. Looking forward to him having the interview then he will stop nattering. Probably be loads more stages so this could take a while ho hum
Food will be a rinse and repeat of yesterdays turkey roast. My yorkies were a triumph even if I do say so myself so there's enough for today and a couple for the freezer. Love a leftovers day its so easy
Have a good day all

Good morning, bright here, but the forecast is poor.I'm a late starter this morning, but I've been awake for hours during the night - I woke up at 1.30, still awake at 5am, then knew no more till about 7.45.I've got shopping to do this morning, I didn;t do any at the weekend, not much is needed though. We went to the seaside yesterday for a change, and had a picnic in the car, there were loads of people about.Called at Ds's and said a distanced hello on the way, they were waiting in for a delivery, otherwise they would have come with us, in their own car of course.I've been going through my clothes(again) and I know I've got too much stuff, but I've started a charity bag.Hope everyone has a good Monday, take care folks13

Morning all! Up at the crack of dawn for me, oh ok, half past seven, which is pretty much stupid early for me...Two people are coming to fetch things I put up for sale today, yay, that's money to go back in the emergency cash book. Yes, it's an actual book on the bookshelf, i put the money in between the pages and usually forget it's there, although it did it's turn to pay the chimney sweep and now it's empty...More of the same today, OH has promised to go through his clothes, he has been promising this since last summer so we'll see. Supper last night was ramen, easy to make. Today, no clue. I'll have to take something out of the freezer. Maybe the chicken and maybe fajitas being as we have peppers and onions. Or mushroom risotto and fried chicken. This all depends on how much energy I have left after doing the stuff...I can see a glimmer of things looking better now though. Bear in mind that I have only been doing downstairs though...The back bedroom upstairs is where all of my books in carrier bags are, spare clothes, linen, motorbike gear etc...Could be a while there.Scarlet, your car picnic sounds nice. Nelski, I love a leftover meal, so easy to do! TA, happy triples birthdays! Hope everyone is doing OK, or Tony the Tiger guhrate! managing clutter Monday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

Busy day today.
Quick blast through the house then out with DS2 and DGD to shop for DILs birthday on Wednesday. 2 of us havent a clue, the one aged 8 says not to worry, she has lots of ideas. This makes the grownups feel more than a bit nervous as we examine the state of our credit cards. (That is a JOKE mse monitors.)
Will let you know later what these wonderful ideas are.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Hello Monday. May I ask you a question? Why are you always back so quickly? Don't you have a hobby?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all
Not too bad a day with some sun due later the rest of the week is looking dismal though with rain almost continually, doesnt really matter as I have nowhere to go anyway
Yesterday I ws given a load of beetroot so I roasted it while I had the oven on for the dinner so today I shall slice and pickle it for xmas, a friend grew it in the village so its lovely and local.
Dog walk today and a quick clean through. Like a few of you its left over roast today (beef for us) so very little effort just need to heat it all through.
I might get online later and order a few more bits for xmas, my mum wants a food processor but they are so expensive, we have a £30 limit for our secret santa gift and I cant get a food processor for anywhere near that !!
Have good days all and stay safe xx12 -

Thanks for the thread Nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
I've walked Beano, riddled and refilled the stove and more tea. Today I'm collecting a coffee table, getting it along the towpath and across the lock gates will be erm interesting.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.12
