I have added on another side to create the u shape and the design is slightly different to the picture. I also added in oven/microwave/hob and dishwasher/proving drawer. The total price came to £3555 with my trade card I got 20% off so took the price down to £2800 (prices not accurate a few pounds out) I am going to look through the list and take off bits we dont need like cutlery liners etc.

Just to throw another suggestion in... Have a look at kickstrip (or plinth) heaters - If you want to get rid of a radiator, it will free up wall space and pumps the heat out at a low level (keeps your feet warm). Whilst not cheap, and does require an isolator switch above the worktop, one will keep the kitchen warm. But if you are having underfloor heating, it will be a moot point.

Where did you get it from in the end ?
  • Looking fo a similar sized kitchen! Any thoughts on Howden’s? I heard they are good and happy to design around integrated appliances already purchased. They have a sale on this month, but I’m unsure if that’s just a sale tactic, albeit apparently every time this year.

Howdens are good, solid kitchens with good service. Delivery is near immediate and the depots are always local so it's very easy to make last minute changes or for any mistakes to be rectified.

The pricing is never transparent, but the October sale is genuine and this is the best time to buy from them.

  • I have just fitted a Howdens kitchen all the pull out extras are pre fitted now and you can adjust the back legs from inside the unit.
missing parts and issues are dealt with quickly!
If only they had designers who could use a tape measure!
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

I feel that design is not their strong point, I need to say exactly what I want! Glad to hear the good review though

Once you have a quote from Howdens send it to DIY Kitchens (very easy to do online) and get a quote from them.

We did that, then got Howdens to price match....they took a bit of pushing but got there in the end.

The previous owner fitted a Howdens kitchen to our last house just before we bought it. It was a good solid kitchen and when we sold it last year it was in good order after 12 years of use.
