Hi all, I had a payment due to come out on 17 October which I thought would come out on Monday with it being a weekend today. However, it has actually come out today and put me just over £5 over my credit limit. I've paid the amount I'm over straight away, but will I still be charged an over limit fee? I assume I will but was hoping with it being cleared within an hour on the same day that I might touch lucky and not get charged 😖

You should get away with it as it was resolved within the same day.0

Thanks for the reply! I hope so

I've had this happen, with a different provider, I called them explained what happened and that I had paid the over-limit amount but because it takes a few days to show in the account they put a "Promise to pay" marker on the account and it was all good, got a limit increase a couple of months later so it didn't seem to affect my status with them.
Probably not necessary to call them, but there's no harm in doing so if it puts your mind at rest.0 -
Thanks sleepy Jones, I'll consider calling them to let them know. I didn't think about the fact it'll take a couple of days to clear

On a wider note, the fact you are flirting with the limit probably needs some attention.2

In my case at the time, I had a low limit (£250), it was nigh on impossible to not flirt with the limit0

If its not sat in your bank account, then don`t spend it.
