If it going to stay as an office for a while then just expect to redo the flooring when converting back to a bedroom as whatever goes down it wear different areas to the bedroom layout.
The chair area could end up under a bed so won't matter so much.

My husband has a study upstairs, but I have read that it's best to work from home in rooms you don't relax in, so we madesome of the garden end of the sitting room, into a home office space. He doesn't have an office chair yet but I'm wary of wheels on our beautiful Edwardian floorboards. I'll be looking at office chair mats too, thanks.1

I am about to decide on what floor covering to have, re-carpet, laminate etc? but need info on what members have found good when using a computer chair on what ever floor covering they have.
Thanks for any/all replies.
