Barclaycard "Inconvenience" Payment

But "You feel that Barclaycard was in part responcible for your debt situation" implies that the OP is trying to blame BC for his/her woes. Which I agree with. Otherwise the OP wouldn't have posted on here whinging why they haven't received a far greater amount of compensation.

Hi I have been trying to pay off my credit cards for years . I have two frozen and under half my limit . Two more are pushing me to make arrangements to clear in 4 years at amounts I cannot afford . I pay a little over the minimum each month but don’t miss payments . I feel I am being hounded for more money . Do I have to pay the higher amount?0

If you can't pay it, you can't pay it.
But it's in your interests to pay off as much as you can.0 -
Well ideally yes. It’s not your money and they want it back. Seems fair?jamaicainn said:Hi I have been trying to pay off my credit cards for years . I have two frozen and under half my limit . Do I have to pay the higher amount? No you don`t, just pay what is affordable. Are you with stepchange ? you mentioned a DMP.In debt management you pay an affordable amount towards your debts, if your creditors are unhappy with the situation, just provide them with a copy of your budget plan, showing that what you pay is what you can afford. The normal responce for creditors that remain unhappy is to sell your debt on to a debt purchasing company, who will have much more discretion where payments are concerned, so no need to worry about it, you obviously cannot pay more than you can afford, its looking like your accounts will be sold sooner rather than later. If you need further advice, may i suggest you post on the debt free wannabe forum, we are a lot more freindly and aware of your situation over there, we do not judge you for asking simple questions, nor post sarcastic remarks in responce to questions posed, feel free to join us at any time.kind regards.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Credit card issuers now have to check for persistent debt, basically those paying the minimum long term, and the answer seems to be to tell them to up payments!jamaicainn said:Hi I have been trying to pay off my credit cards for years . It sounds like you've gone down the line a bit with the other cards if they are suggesting arrangements to clear in 4 years. Getting some Free Debt Advice may give you a better understanding of your whole situation and options to stop them hounding you.1
