I wouldn't buy a house with a pylon in the garden.

offer what you think the house is worth with the pylon"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

It is not really a question of price. Many people simply would not buy regardless of price.4

Define "pylon". Single pole (possibly holding the transformer supplying the house)? Or massive four-footed steel thing?

How large is the garden? How close is the pylon to the house? What easements/covenants exist for repair/maintenance/access to the pylon?

I, when looking at houses, discounted any that had a pylon anywhere near them, so you couldn't give it away to me.0

How big is the garden? If there were two imaginary identical houses with pylons 40 feet away I would prefer to 50 foot garden, including pylon, over the 20 foot garden not including pylon. But unsurprisingly would prefer big garden and no pylon.Assuming small domestic poles - big pylons can hum annoyingly! But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

To be fair, the question wasn't should I buy a house with a pylon, but how much would it affect the price (relative to other similar houses without a pylon).
Not that I have an answer to that (and before the hounds circle, I wouldn't buy a house with a pylon in the garden either!)-1 -

People have answered the question. It was asked how much it affected value. Some have us have said we wouldn't buy it. Surely anyone would reach the conclusion its worth would be zero (to us). Obviously there is no calculation to say it's worth something like -11.73%.
People are trying to say it doesn't so much affect price as saleability.
And it's a forum - you don't get to dictate what advice is given. Especially when it wasn't even you who asked the question. The 'hounds' quote won't stop people people replying to defend their replies either. You don't get to throw a bone and criticise anyone who grabs it.
