I’m still confused. My MOT was meant to be in March but it was cancelled due to some problem with the lifts. They sent me a temporary certificate to last until July. Then because of the virus, all MOT’s were cancelled for a while but they never sent me another temporary certificate. When am I meant to book another test? Is it still legal for me to drive?0

I don't think the certificate has anything to do with it. They never sent me one for the first extension, just a note that said it was extended. They didn't bother doing that for the second extension - I found out about it by looking for when my next MOT is due.
So yes, you're legal to drive. They should let you know when to book your next test (assuming we're not still locked down in Spring next year).2 -

"Check MOT history" doesn't work for NI registered vehicles. "Check MOT status", however, does work. It tells you at the top when your next MOT is due.

https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-statusJanuary is a PITA. Now it’ll have to serviced every year in the depths of winter 😕. I wish I could change it back to the end of March.0 -

Mine was due in the summer, extended to Feb, I only just got an appointment for 2 weeks before Feb after multiple times trying on the website. Cant even get to my local one, have to travel 15 miles.0

I have to say: I'm just using that status as a kind of "am I still good" indicator. I'm not going to anticipate when the next test is due, until they actually send me a reminder. There's no telling what state everything will be in, in the new year, and I would not be astonished at further extensions.4
