PC Pro Competition (Issue 160)
Expires: 5 Feb 08
This month we're giving you the chance to win a Zalman ZM-M190 Trimon 3D monitor, a Shuttle Blu-ray Media Center and LCD monitor, and many more prizes. Shuttle Blu-ray Media Center and LCD
www.shuttle.eu
The Shuttle XPC G5 3301M's headline feature may be its next generation Blu-ray drive, but that's not its only high-end specification. Its tiny 200x185x310mm case contains a powerful 1.86GHz Intel E6320 Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of 667MHz memory.
There's a built-in LCD display on the front for displaying multimedia information, and with a multiformat card reader, Gigabit Ethernet and plenty of USB ports plus six-pin FireWire, you can easily make it the centre of your home media collection.
A digital TV tuner takes care of TV reception, and you can click through Media Center's channels and menus with the remote control. Recording shows is easy, and there's plenty of space to store them on the generous 320GB hard disk.
This superb bundle also comes with Shuttle's 1,280x1,024-resolution XP17 17in monitor.
Worth £1,250
A Zalman ZM-M190 Trimon 3D monitor
www.quietpc.com/uk
In the 1970s, Tomorrow's World was promising us flying cars, meals in pill form and 3D TV. The first two are some way off, but Zalman claims that it's got 3D imaging sorted with the ZM-M190. You'll need to wear the included polarising glasses, and you'll also need an Nvidia GeForce graphics card to use this monitor.
The ZM-M190 is compatible with all GeForce graphics cards from the venerable 5000 series up to the 7000 series, with 8000 series support promised soon. Zalman has a list of over 20 games that will work with this display, with more reported to be in the offing. The ZM-M190 is a conventional 2D monitor when the glasses are not worn.
We have one to give away.
Worth £350
