Help Needed with Electric Oven Fault

I have a built in Hotpoint double oven which is going a bit strange.

I use the oven ( or grill)  with no problems, and within a couple of minutes of me turning it off, the whole thing dies. Completely loses power, nothing on the display. After a few hours, it comes back to life, works as normal and then the same thing happens again.

At first I thought something electrical in the fuse but this problem seems to be happening when it is cooling down. I can cook something for 20 minutes or 2 hours and it works fine while it's on but as soon as that dial is turned....kaput.  I've googled but can't really work out what it could be. Can anyone shed any light on what might have gone, please?

  • What do you mean it comes back to life?

Do you mean you turn the dial back on and the grill/oven turns on as normal?

It sounds as though you have an eco function on your oven , have you checked the instructions?
