How can I keep moisture in food when reheating, especially things bread based like pizza?

Something that I noticed helps but not all the time is putting a small container of water in middle and so the steam helps but I am not sure if this works much or not.
Another thing I do is put a few drops of water on say a plate for a pizza, this does help but if I don't use enough it dries out anyway, if I use a little too much the base is soggy.
For chips I use the water in small container method.
Is there actual methods that work?
I heard things in things like pyrex dishes if you put a damp towel over it can help, again is this true?

I dry fry left over pizza upside down in a pan and it comes out as good as the orginal portion but I like it nice and crispy. I do the same with leftover chips - dry fry all the way!0
