Best/cheapest place to buy custom shelf boards?

I have an old Ikea Billy bookcase in a style which they no longer sell. It has a metal tubular frame, and the shelves have a pair of hook-type brackets at each end which rest on the horizontal tubular supports at the side of the frame.
I want to add a couple more shelves to it (in a beech finish), and am not too bothered about how they look as the bookcase is not in public view. I'll need to find the right brackets, but more importantly am looking for a reasonably priced supplier of shelf boards (800mm wide x 390mm deep). Can anyone recommend somwhere - ideally accessible from South West London?

I take it the current Billy shelves are too narrow?
I'd probably look on eBay, but we'd put some extra shelves in our kitchen units using MDF from B&Q, which we had cut to the right size in store and then covered in sticky back plastic I got from Amazon. The 'brackets' were the little pin things which we got free from the spares bins at IKEA.0 -
Yes the current BIlly bookcases are a completely different design, although the shelves are only 4cm too short. Maybe if I found the right brackets they could do the job. At £10 each they're probably alot cheaper than getting custom shelves cut at B&Q. Thanks0

If I'm thinking of the right shelves, they had black tubular ends and beech shelves with the hook-like bracket on the ends. We had some about 25 years ago - they definitely weren't called Billy, i think they were Niklas. If so, you might find spare shelves on ebay, Gumtree etc!

Thanks - yes I think you're right. I don't know what made me think it was a Billy bookcase. That's great at least now I have a clearer idea of what to look for in the second hand market!sew_what said:If I'm thinking of the right shelves, they had black tubular ends and beech shelves with the hook-like bracket on the ends.
