Porting mobile number

Changed mobile provider from EE to Virgin as cheaper. They ported the number in a day. But then after contacting customer services informed that it could take upto 5 days before I will receive calls. Surely this can't be right? Can anyone help me with this? Where do I stand? Is this allowed?

It relies on both companies co-operating and having the resources to do it and it takes time -databases have to be updated etc. I'm guessing that you may not be their only customer.

Anyone experiencing problems getting a PAC from 3 for moving to a new provider? Network coverage in my new flat is rubbish. I've phoned and contacted through website. Used the number to text PAC request and keep getting message saying "technical issues and they can't fulfill request"0
