My Mum just fell for the Courier Scam. They pretended to be police got her to call 999 about a visa credit card issue...it must have been a fake dialling tone but they convinced her to hand over £8000.

Well, fake police rang my gran about an American Express Black card issue relating to the suspicious purchase of a transatlantic balloon flight for one, Southampton to New Jersey (it couldn't have been my gran, she hates heights which is why she lives in a bingalow) but the scammers were so convincing she handed £80,000 there and then to them from the jamjar she keeps on a kitchen shelf just behind her Womens' Institute collecting box. Its' crinimal, wots going on out there.
