As above, is there anything I can do to "disguise" the scratch so it is not as noticeable?

It'll depend how deep the scratch is on the glass. I've read of people using toothpaste, rubbing it in a circular motion to polish the scratch out. I'd presume this will only work on a very light surface scratch though. If you can feel the scratch when you run a finger nail over it, it's unlikely it will polish out.1

I imagine a DIY windscreen chip repair kit would do the job if it's a deep scratch; perhaps even clear nail polish. You'd need to lay the door down, obviously.

Thanks for comments.
Have read about the toothpaste thing so might try that as the scratch isn't deep.0 -
You can try the proffesional connector -Paste GOI. This is not an advertisement this is advice, my husband used it somehow.I've also heard about toothpaste and clear nail polish.
