Validating id for Lloyds account in Scotland

Hi folks, I'm trying to open a lloyds account and it is asking for me to verify my id. However, they only have 3 branches in Scotland and the central belt is in a lockdown. Is there any other branches I can go to to do this? Like Bank of Scotland or something?

Thanks

You might be able to do it at your nearest BoS or Halifax since they’re all part of the same group.

Can't speak from experience with Lloyds, but I've dropped into Halifax to verify ID for a BoS account before. You may have some luck - but I'd see if anyone else comes back with any more experience here. I'm assuming you're opening the account for the incentive, otherwise you'll probably have issues if you intend to use them as a main account moving forward if branch access is limited.

Might also be worth checking if you could post them certified copies of your documents perhaps?
  • I had to do this for my Lloyds account as there is no near by Lloyds branch. I went to a Halifax, they did accept the documents and said it would be sent off, but they were never received by Lloyds.
  • I wonder if anyone in Scotland has had success in going into a different branch? And Yes, I am doing it for the incentive. But if I can't bring ID into a different branch (there doesn't seem to be an option to post) then I will just close the account.

There aren't any Lloyds branches in Scotland, not sure where you got that from?

They were integrated into TSB Scotland, which was rebranded LloydsTSB Scotland years ago and this subsequently became the current TSB Bank.

All three retail brands will have a single account processing team - so If you take it into BOS or Halifax then it should arrive.

Last 2 Lloyds accounts went to the local branch of BOS with verification. The phoned Lloyds problem solved.

  • I took it to BoS today and was told they couldn't help me. That they can only deal with things specifically for Lloyds.

True, but they are office blocks not bank branches with customer counters.
Does it really have to be Lloyds?  Might be less hassle to choose a different bank.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,

That was the advice I received when I phoned up Lloyds. To go to BOS.

Saying that first branch could not do it as they did not have their Ipads working. And did not appear to know anything?
Second branch was the main bigger one. Assistant phoned up gave their name bank ref No etc gave my info and it was done.
