Driving license expiry

 Of my age
 my driving license will expire in November and I have understood from DVLA that licenses that expite before 31 Dec will be automatically extended for 11 months
My question
If I renew now my license will be valid for 3 years
If i wait out the 11 month extension will my new licence be valid 3 years from the date that I renew it in 11 months time or will it still only be valid untill 3 years from this November?

You may have to speak to a human in the DVLA to find your answer.  Good lucks, you will need all of it.

Do you mean your actual entitlement to drive?
Or simply the photocard?

If it is the entitlement, then is the short life because you are over 70, or because of a medical restriction?
