Rough two storey extension cost in Newcastle

  • Thanks all.
Guess my thinking was 30K up north here would've included internals as well as the shell. I was just a tad surprised a shell by itself would cost 30K. If I add the internal to that, plus the actual materials (tiles, bathroom, shower, etc), I'm looking for something close to 50K spending. This seems to make an extension more expensive than buying a house  :open_mouth:

    From   https://householdquotes.co.uk/cost-of-extension/#forward

In 2019, an estimate for the cost of a single storey extension is anywhere between £1,350 and £1,950 per m2.

In London and the South East, this could be anywhere between £1,800 and £2,300+ per m2. These prices are for for a good quality extension. Basic quality would naturally cost less and premium would be more.

Well, yes.  There are areas where you can buy a house for less than the cost of building one.

If you're better off moving, move.   Don't look for cheaper and cheaper prices.  The worst building work I see is in areas like that.
