Baillie Gifford American Fund - Dave Bujnowski interview

I hold the Baillie Gifford American B accumulation fund in my ISA and growth this year is 107% to date on the back of Tesla, Shopify Amazon and other high performing lockdown stocks.
Here is an interview with Dave Bujnowski, part of the funds Management team. He explains their stock picking process and how they are looking for the 10 year growth window and how the current high valuations of some of the holdings still keep them as a hold rather than a sell.
I picked this fund last year as a long term investment, before the virus struck, after reviewing it’s long term historical performance and will be buying more of the fund steadily over the coming years. The huge growth this year makes me a little nervous but I'm going to hold on to it and trust the managers to do their job and rotate the portfolio as required.

I’m always a bit wary of recent astronomic results.

I said that about SMT more than 6 months ago and look where they are, still on the up. I've stopped trying to time the market. As long as it satisfies your strategy and risk, why notTBC15 said:I’m always a bit wary of recent astronomic results.
I hold this fund as well to give my portfolio a USA boost, although a small amount.
If your investing for the long term, then you will invariably take the dips with the highs, let it grow and forget about it. Of course choose your funds wisely"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
