IVA and Old joint account

Hi,
Firstly sorry for my english.
I want ask for advice, me and my wife was using joint account.
Now I'm in IVA last 3 months. That join account was affected to IVA for overdraft.
And there is problem, bank account is on my side part of IVA but my wife didn't have IVA. So bank can want from her to pay this overdraft.
When we try to contact bank and explain everything and try arranging payment because my wife is not IVA they said " they can't do nothing with that because account is part of IVA and is close" and we need come to branch and told them everything and they will take my wife name form that account. (that sound good) but when we went branch they said actually same. They can't do nothing because account is close and we need call that number. And all is circle now.
In phone say go to branch and branch say call that number.
Now after 5x phone calls and 2x visit branch I just lost.
I want just protect my wife and her credit but is seen impossible to find way how to do it.
Did have someone similar problem or did someone some help with this please.
Thank you
Regards Michal

You are both jointly liable for any OD resulting from a joint account.
You have protection from your IVA, your wife does not.
So yes the bank can chase her for the debt.
Always open a new account with a bank with whom you have no debt when entering any kind of debt solution.

Hi, thank you for your respond.
He have already open new account that was first IVA Advisor told us.
You catch all point I'm safe under IVA my wife doesn't.
That is reason we try contact bank and make arrangement because I don't want affect her credit score or wait when someone come and knock our door.
Problem is when we try they didn't know what to do. Branch say call collection department and they say need sorted in branch.
Looks like they didn't seen this before and didn't know what to do. We just try to avoid consequences.
That why I ask if there any help or someone has same experience and what to do.
