scam? on repaying investment funds

Was contacted by a Mr. Daniel Hunter from LIQ Group regarding apparent repayment of an investment with Aegis which went wrong.  Then a letter from LIQ giving  a phone no. to ring 'with regards to receiving my personal settlement.'   Phone number unobtainable.   Is this a scam to get my consent to them getting the funds and then they will keep them??

    Sounds very dodgy .
Do you actually have an investments with a company called Aegis?
The only company that comes up on google is a Lloyds underwriter.

It is very common for people that have been scammed with investments or suffered unscrupulous activity to then be targetted by the same scammers in a different guise (or have sold your data to another scammer) who then tries to get money out of you to "recover your money".    So, it is an area to be on guard with when you are approached like this.   Although I cannot say whether that is the case here or not as there is insufficient information to go on.
