Unsure on the right savings account

I’m trying to find the right savings account for my son who’s now turned 18. He has a lump sum from other accounts which i would like to transfer into a savings account. Not looking for an account where money will be paid in monthly but just to retain the savings he already has until he’s ready to get a mortgage. Alongside this he already has a help to buy isa which we are paying into monthly.
His current account is with the Halifax.
Advise would be much appreciated.
