Laptop won't connect to internet, mobile OK

Just this morning, my Toshiba Windows 10 laptop wouldn't connect to the internet, via wifi. It has been working OK for many months. My mobile connects OK, so it's definitely something wrong with the laptop. I've tried 'disconnect' then 'connect' a few times (on the laptop) and then tried a power off/on. No joy. I haven't tried resetting the router - no point surely if my mobile connects OK?
I won't be able to try out any suggestions until I get home from work later but any help would be appreciated.

Power off your router and all devices that connect to it. Power on router and wait until you have an internet connection then start your devices, starting with the laptop first and see if it now connects.1

Try a router reboot anyway. Sometimes mine refuses to give out IP addresses once a device's lease expires which results in some devices working and others which won't. Router reboot cures it.1

Restart laptop (not power off/on); restart router (even though mobile connects).
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.1 -
OK folks. I'll try those suggestions later today. I'll get back to you.
Thanks.0 -
Make sure you don't have a dedicated wifi on/off button on your laptop. Some Toshiba laptops do (e.g.F8 button). It may be that you have just inadvertently switched this off.1

Well I still have the problem. I switched off the laptop and mobiles, then reset the router, then powered on laptop and phones. Same problem, mobiles connect but laptop doesn't. Then
I ran a troubleshooter and it came back with "problem found. 'wi-fi' doesn't have have a valid IP configuration". Also tried 'forgetting' the connection and entering the router wireless password. No luck.
Any further ideas?0 -

The first result from a quick Google for ipconfig flushdns.3 -
OK I'm up and running now. I went to the site that Were_Doomed suggested and followed the procedure. Actually I got to the part where I was typing 'netsh winsock reset' into a DOS screen and the screen suddenly cleared and I noticed I was back on-line.
Hopefully not finishing the procedure isn't important.
So all good here. Thanks to all for the suggestions and to Were_Doomed for the fix.0
