Good morning all and I hope everybody is safe and well.
My question if I could kindly be advised is about the consultation process before imminent redundancy, I and others are being made redundant we have just passed Stage3 consultation and final decision is due next week and shall be made redundant Oct31st, what I ask is...Can I train elsewhere for a few days for no monetary gain to prepare me for my new role I have secure for Nov 2nd ? I am a HGV driver and would need to use my digicard to operate a vehicle so it will show driving hours albeit accompanied by a trainer, my worry is whilst not being paid and only undergoing training for the vehicle they use I want to be upto speed ready for solo work Nov 2nd, am I risking a breach of redundancy protocol I ask ?
Thankyou in advance for anybody answering.

I don't think so - you can ask your employer for unpaid leave (or take any holidays that they owe you), and still receive your redundancy. You can't insist that they release you, but as they are making your redundant, they should consider your request with an open mind. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

I believe - though not sure if it was contractual - when i went through redundancy time off was available for interviews and some training.
I suspect it was contractual though1 -
Thankyou for replying, I don’t want to cause any issues and merely wish to hit the ground running by showing willingness to learn a new role in my own time so there is no lag when I start the new role, but obviously do not want to upset my soon to be former employer or legalities of what I can or cannot do just now.0
