ArrowXL stolen delivery won't refund

Hello,
I was hoping someone could offer me some advice. I bought a tent from Very back in July, it was being delivered by arrow. I arranged the delivery day but was called out to work early in the morning. I recieved a phone call from delivery team, but didn't answer as I was driving and they left the parcel in my back yard. The text me to tell me so and that they noticed we have CCTV (that doesn't work to our delight!). I got home and my back gate was wide open (it has a lock on the inside- i don't know how arrow managed to get it open in the first place) and the tent was gone. We haven't lived in the house long so it has been quite stressful. I called up very to get a replacement they couldn't get it to me in time for us to go camping so I ordered another one from Winfields and Very were investigating.
I've called up twice to chase it up and I spoke to someone this week who has told me that arrow delivered the item and because we were in lock down they only delivered to the door step anyway. As far as they're concerned they delivered it "what happens after is not their problem" .
On my account it says deliver to a neighbour if I'm not home and I appreciate that I had arranged the day but I didn't expect them to leave a thousand pound tent outside!
Where do I stand here? I'm furious we are generally ok, parcels have been hidden if they were left. The replacement tent we got the box was huge and that was a smaller version. I just don't understand why they would leave it outside.

The retailer is responsible for the item until it arrives in your possession. It never did.
Have you reported the theft to the police? Once you have an incident number you have more leverage on getting Very to refund you.1 -
Why is it stressful maybe neighbour nicked it1

Stressful because we'd just moved to an area and something was stolen out of our garden
I hadn't reported it but I have now. Thanks for your help. Still waiting for very to respond.0
