Just got home to a nice letter from jps financial (see attached)
Can they do this ?

Yes, they can do that.  Most PPI companies have a time-waster clause in their contracts.

Depends on whether it is in the contract or not.    However, many claims companies do have a timewaster clause in their contract.

The claim of 4 hours work is questionable as most CMCs either add your name to a line on a spreadsheet that takes a couple of minutes or they send a template letter to the free of charge to use complaints process.  Again, you can count that in minutes plus the cost of paper and stamp.

It wouldn’t have even been by post, it’d likely have been a bulk submission by email.
 

None the less, they can do this. We had loads of complaints during the last couple of years from people who were unhappy that we’d told multiple CMC’s that they’d already complained previously and wanted us to cover time waster fees which, of course, we didn’t.
