what can i do in Nov if boss wont have me back to work but wont put me on the new scheme?

I don't know where i stand. I was put on furlough from the very beginning, Last week was the first time my boss has spoken to me in all that time. Last month he called other staff members back to work but not me. Its a family run business so his quite happy not having extra staff about. When he called he said that there was no update. Company has not work and no money, apparently. I know from other members of staff this isn't true. As he was about to hang up the phone i asked about the new scheme as i want to go back to work, and i need the money. He claimed he knew nothing about it and will get back to me. My fear is he wont put me on the new scheme and i wont get paid. If i dont hear from him where do i stand in November? Can i just turn up and do my contracted hours? If i don't turn up then i wont get paid? Cant find anyone else in this position where the boss wont make me redundant yet wont sort out the new scheme.

You need to be working a third of your normal hours to be on the new scheme.
If he isnt prepared to do that then....well, its not good news.
What industry are you in where you are still sat at home in October but others are not?0 -
Putting you on the scheme is at the employer’s discretion (sorry about that 😉), I suppose you could turn up to work but may be turned away (not needed/covid rules). Unfortunately you are stuck in a situation over which you have no control. Do you have a union who could try to help with this?0

How long have you been employed?
What was the furlough agreement? Until further notice or until a certain date? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
How long have you been employed in this job? More or less than 2 years?

If you have minimum contracted hours then your employer needs to pay you for those hours, even if they have no work for you.GabiB said:Putting you on the scheme is at the employer’s discretion (sorry about that 😉), I suppose you could turn up to work but may be turned away (not needed/covid rules). I have a part time contract. not a zero contract. so hasn't he got to honour that? I have been there nearly 3 years.0

Depends what the furlough agreement was. If it was due to end on a certain date/you've been notified it will end on a certain date then your employer should either be paying you your contracted rate (whether they require you to work or not), seeking to vary your contract (either reduced hours or remain furloughed at a different rate) or giving you redundancy.Cat44 said:

If they haven't given an end to furlough then your furlough agreement (whether 80% or 100% of your wage) stands until they notify otherwise. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
