Anyone know good insurer for Campervan??

Hi,

Ive been looking for some car insurance for my sister, she has a VW Transporter Campervan. I looked at all the usuall haunts for good deals but seeing as it isnt a car they wouldn't quote. Her last insurance was with tesco and they managed to give me a quote, but thats the only one so far.
But im in a pickle becasue CAR insurers wont quote because its a van and VAN insurers wont quote becuase it is not a commercial vehicle (she only uses it for camping and driving domestic)

So if anybody has a camper or something similar and knows of any places where you can get a good price for car insurance please let me know.

Sounds like it's time to use a broker! Don't know if anyone mentioned in this thread will be able to help? I know it's a different situation, but if you're getting nowhere a broker may be the answer.

Also would the Camping and Caravan Club be another place to look?

Hi - if you are talking classic split screen VW camper from the 60s/70s try footman james in birmingham.Even if it is more recent they should still be able to give a keen price.

The AA broker service will quote for you. Also the cheapest way to get extended travel insurance for an old camper van is to join the carav and camping club and get a big discount with the RAC...

Hi, we got insurance with cis - the co-op! Also took their breakdown cover. Worth a try at least.
