Joint Bank accounts and overdrafts

Beaujolais7

We, myself and my partner are thinking of bank accounts it makes sense after 13 years, 2 children, and a house (mortgage). We both have overdrafts, so which is the best bank account to go for, plus we live in Northern Ireland, and after being made redundant 6 years ago we are almost debt freeish. Any help would be great, I will google too.

Are you effectively envisaging borrowing money from a new bank to pay off overdrafts elsewhere (in order to close the existing sole accounts), or running a joint account alongside existing ones (all with overdraft facilities)? How much are each of you overdrawn and how far away are you from paying these off?0

I would look at clearing the overdrafts first before moving to another bank0

There's no guarantee a new bank will offer you another overdraft, particularly if you already have existing debt. Outside of that, see here: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/#overdrawn0
