Gas for BBQ

Hi all. Not sure if this is the right place to post or not but I've recently collected a gas BBQ from Freecycle and they also gave me a large orange Liquid Propane gas bottle which was empty. There is no regulator on the BBQ so that doesn't help in answering my question. My question is, do you have to use a specific gas for specific equipment as I've seen gas BBQs that use other colour bottles as well. I have a blue gas bottle which we use for our camping stove but I'm guessing that won't work...

Have a look at this. Patio gas (green) is the same as propane but tends to have a different regulator - a clip on as opposed to a screw on.0 -
Either should work. But you need to get the correct regulator for whichever gas bottle you end up using. The people who supply bottled gas should also sell the matching regulator.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
