Like Skipton the interest rate is part variable (0.60%) and part fixed (0.30%). Though the minimum opening balance is £1000, the minimum operating balance is £1, providing flexibility.
  • It is these accounts with the fixed bonus element that I feel will be most attractive at the moment as it guarantees some minimum rate that some may find acceptable.

Thanks for sharing, however, should be in the Savings & Investments forum for relevancy.

Had the dreaded interest reduction email from West Brom today.
Issue 4 of the WeBsave will be reduced to 0.65% (from 0.95%) on the 8th April 2021
Issue 5 (I have this one), from 0.75% to 0.50% on the 8th April 2021
Knew it was coming, but still disappointing.

Just finally managed to move the bulk of my spare monthly RS dripfeed money from the Skipton  to my previously opened WestBrom Websave Bonus Saver (Iss 4) yesterday, to take advantage of their 0.90% interest rate.

Imagine my joy on receiving today's email.

The only good news....Santander made such a hash of the transfer, they paid me £50 compensation for all the hassle, worry, and delay they caused me. It's a sad day when compensation for incompetence provides more income than the lackluster interest rates.

Where to go next I wonder.
