Moving into temp. accomodation

SO>>>>the story is, I am in the middle of a long wait to sell my property - running out of money due to covid19 (really!!!???). Think it is all going through but everything is taking ages atm.
Anyway I am looking to rent in my chosen area for a while. Rental agents are a bit loathed to rent before exchange of contracts (to be sure I have funds in place - fine) - which may mean I have to move into temporary accomodation for a while. Does anyone know what to do about changing address for a bank account/credit card etc. if it is only going to be for a month or two? I will need access to my money obviously!

You are talking about changing your address for a short period of time before changing it again to something more permanent.

If it were me I would ensure all my accounts were 'paperless' and use royal mail redirect for any post that might otherwise come to your old address.

Go paperless for everything that you can and redirect the rest to a safe address. Make sure that your purchasers have this safe address and are agreeable to redirect missed post.

Technically you should update your addresses each time you move, but practically it's probably just easier to go paperless and set up a short-term redirection to a safe address during your rental period (eg. to family/friends, or a PO box). After your house sale completes, you can change your address with the banks and set up a longer-term redirection to your new address.
