Have JET2 actually cancelled your holiday?
Or have they advised you of a change of flight date?
Is it a package holiday that you've booked?
There will be something in JET2's T&Cs about what is classed as a 'significant change' and what is classed as an 'insignificant change'.

Why? It doesn't appear to be Covid related. It is purely a holiday cancellation for a holiday 10 months in the future. It sounds more like flight schedules changing that don't fit with the holiday booked.

12 hours change on a Jet2 package holiday consitutes a significant change, the OP can cancel and be refunded in full assuming its actually 12 hours change and not a change from 7pm to, say, 6am the following day.

OP, ring them and say as per section 8 of their Terms and Conditions you would like a full refund.  Surely the email gives you this option though, assuming this is how they contacted you.

    As Jet2 T&Cs say this:
Significant changes: If we are constrained by circumstances beyond our control to alter significantly any of the main characteristics of the travel services that make up your package you will have the rights set out below. Examples of a significant change are: change of your UK departure airport; complete change of destination/resort; a change of more than 12 hours to the time you leave the UK or your destination; if we downgrade your accommodation by one full star rating (where applicable). If we have to make a significant change to your holiday, we will inform you or your travel agent as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your booked holiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. We will tell you the procedure for making your choice. We will pay compensation as detailed in clause 10 below for all significant changes except where the major change is due to an “unavoidable and extraordinary circumstance”.

and the the OP says he/she has not been given the option of a full refund, it's possible (likely imo) that the change is less than 12 hours.

OP what time was your original flight and what time is the revised flight?
  • I wonder why the first time poster had a peek at 10am but did not respond to any of the posts?
  • I might be wrong but I read it as the OP has had the holiday cancelled therefore will be refunded but was hoping they would move to the next day without the charges.
  • Dear All,

I booked a holiday with club med to go to the Maldives in March 2020; it was then cancelled due to covid-19, by club med. I asked for a refund since I cannot choose to go at another date and told this would be issued in January 2021. I have tried to ring to find out why it will take so long, but no one answers the phone. What are my rights here? How can I get my refund earlier?

    Many thanks
