Asda have loads of slots available in my area, just booked one for the 21st so if anything is missing I can pop into town.

I got my Christmas pudding on my last delivery. I also got mince pies - but they are sadly gone already. I do have an Ocado delivery booked for the 23rd of December though - but think the slots will have gone insanely quickly.
As soon as the mince pies are available, I get husband to taste them and then I stock up on his favourite and freeze them, just as is, in the box. Never had any probs, defrosting them overnight.

Got a Watts Farm order for the day after Boxing Day and a Morrisons order for day before Christmas Eve. I'm thinking more Brexit prep than Christmas.

Just over an hour and a half queuing for a tesco slot this morning. Plenty of availability in my area though. I find it incredibly stressful, I'm glad it's done. Good luck to anyone still queuing!

I’ve booked a Waitrose slot for Christmas Eve.  Waitrose are great because you can add notes for the picker. I normally go away but who knows this year 🤷‍♀️
You were lucky, I didn’t notice that the Christmas week slots were available and now the whole week is fully booked!  Consequently, I’ve now opened an account with Sainsbury’s and hoping that they will have Christmas delivery slots available.

It used to be possible to book Waitrose slots up to 25 days in advance, and there were always loads of slots available, but now you can only book 14 days in advance and they’re gone if you not quick about it.  A real backward step and they are continually changing  their website, it’s a bit of a pain to keep up with it.

It depends where you live. I can see delivery slots for tomorrow in my area.

I’ve just checked and the ONLY Waitrose slots available are after 6 pm on Friday 27 November, it’s absolutely ridiculous, they’ve completely lost their customer focus.
  • It’s hardly Waitrose’s fault there are no slots. The number of slots is controlled by how many vans they have.

If you had looked at my previous post you would have seen that Waitrose had previously been allowing booking of slots 25 days in advance, when there were always many slots available, now it’s only possible to book 14 days in advance and slots are only available for a very short time.

I have been online shopping since 2012 and that's how I do ALL my shopping now. I use Abel & Cole and Riverford for Christmas food, as it will all turn up. They will order more stock if they need it, based on orders. Not let me down once.

Whereas, it doesn't matter if you ordered from a supermarket 25 days in advance, it isn't guaranteed that you will get everything you ordered, on the day. In fact, I've had an email about Morrisons subs turn up, after the driver has delivered the shopping.

I order as far in advance as I can from supermarkets and change delivery slots, to get one delivery per week from  A supermarket. I check what I have and amend, the night before. Sometimes I'll be adding a lot and other times, removing items. Anything I don't get from a delivery, goes on the next order.

There's a pandemic on and the Brexit transition period ends on 31 December. Supermarkets don't know how they will get fresh produce into the country from Spain and Netherlands. I would suggest also, that if you like Richmond sausages and Moy Park chicken, if you have the freezer space, stash some, because Northern Irish food will be under a new internal border.

Supermarkets are working hard under really difficult circumstances and customers have to be more flexible. Waitrose, for example, is not the only purveyor of Heinz baked beans. Corner shops, village shops, petrol stations, convenience stores, discount stores will all sell baked beans. Fresh food is sold by farm shops, farmers markets, butchers, bakeries, milkmen (coming back). If you can use the internet to buy knickers from M&S, you can manage buying meat, sausages, pies, fish, chicken and eggs direct from producers.

We have always imported food from non EU countries and we will continue to import food from EU countries.
It's bad enough people panic buying toilet rolls and pasta never mind Richmond sausages.
