With the various COVID restrictions I'm not sure Christmas is going to be business as usual as far as large family gatherings are concerned. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed the restrictions are eased over the country.
I did stick a Christmas pudding into my online shop at Iceland this week as it was on offer.  I'll do my shopping in store most probably Tuesday 22nd at Waitrose and Iceland, I already have frozen veg and a joint in the freezer so no one is going to starve.

Can I ask has anyone found it difficult to find slots with Waitrose....not one in last few days, plus noticed that the usual  marked "not available "slot which I assume are for vulnerable customers is not there and it just says booked even on the late evening slots.  I didn't stand a chance with the Christmas orders and now cant get anything....I am wondering if they have decided to no longer delivery to my area - any one got any tips and totally bewildered.

Maybe its your area? I just logged in and the next delivery that I can place is Friday the 6th of November which is about right at the minute with people panic buying again.

I do & am. The Christmas slots went long ago and getting recent slots is nigh impossible, best I can get is a fortnight hence, and I am on their "vulnerable" list

It may be linked to free delivery & recent £40 min spend instead of £60
Luckily there are other S/M in this area with available slots, for instance just had one from Morrison's which I booked Wednesday for a Friday slot

Guess it must be an area thing....looked again this morning thinking 2 weeks hence Monday would have slots....at 8 am nothing.
Slots with S/T/M are all ok.  Have a delivery for Thursday and will ask driver....if it is demand or cut backs in my area.  Not sure he/she will comment....

Sarah 1972 maybe I need to log in earlier :)  5 am

Must be area specific as I can see slots on 27 October and Christmas slots on 22 December.

We’re buying from M&S again and when we ordered on 4th Oct and most slots seemed to have already gone!

I am in their vulnerable category and for months I have been booking a slot each week for 25 days hence, the last time was on Sat 31 Oct for a slot on 24 Nov, but now they are not offering any slots after Tue 17 Nov and there are no slots available up to then.  I checked where my parents live, 200 miles away, and that’s exactly the same there.  So it seems that now they are only offering slots 14 days hence, rather than 25 days hence, AND they are fully booked anyway!

Christmas week is fully booked too and has been for a couple of weeks, I didn’t notice that until it was too late.

I got my Christmas pudding on my last delivery. I also got mince pies - but they are sadly gone already. I do have an Ocado delivery booked for the 23rd of December though - but think the slots will have gone insanely quickly.

I have a recurring slot with Asda for every Saturday 8-9am and got an email to say that they cannot fulfill recurring slots between the 19th December and 2nd January, so I've just gone and put a minimum order in for the 19th December, before all the slots go!  There won't be one for boxing day obviously (we are supposed to be going out for dinner to the Harvester, but don't know now that is going to pan out!).
