Somewhere between 1 second and thirty five years is my guess.2

That's ridiculous. 1 second is impossible. 5 minutes, maybe. As for 35 years, the lender will have gone into liquidation/take-over so 5 years tops...0

I am sick of being told different things each time from the EA out buyers are pushing to complete we are ready but the vendors onward purchase keeps changing daily the things that they are waiting on who do I push to get this to completion0

Yeah, I thought we were pretty much ready to go but found out yesterday that two people in the chain are still awaiting mortgage offers. These are taking a while, as are searches. Though the EA did say a couple of weeks ago that everything was pretty much in order. Not much we can do but wait.0

What I find strange is that the vendors are in their early 70’s so would they even get a mortgage and the house we are buying is bigger than the one that they are buying0

It took 7weeks to get our mortgage agreed. They are taking ages atm.Dant said:What I find strange is that the vendors are in their early 70’s so would they even get a mortgage and the house we are buying is bigger than the one that they are buyingDebt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Who told you this? I suspect there is more to this and the EA just gave you their normal pattern of blah blah mortgage/search/solicitor/insert whatever delay excuse to keep you quiet for another week.Dant said:What I find strange is that the vendors are in their early 70’s so would they even get a mortgage and the house we are buying is bigger than the one that they are buying0 -
Who do you push to get this to completion? Not the EA. EAs can speak up and down the chain, but as they are not a party to any of the legal work, they have about as much idea as you as to what EXACTLY is outstanding. The solicitor acting for your vendor will know what still needs to be done but since the solicitor is not the one acting for you, there is nothing you can do to push things along. Sorry to say, even though you are ready and your buyer is ready, your vendor is obviously not ready and there will be no exchange until they are ready, which might be next week or might be next year.Dant said:I am sick of being told different things each time from the EA out buyers are pushing to complete we are ready but the vendors onward purchase keeps changing daily the things that they are waiting on who do I push to get this to completion

There is nothing you can do except be patient and wait till everyone in the chain is ready.Trying to second guess, or establish, what any delay is caused by is virtually impossible and just a waste of energy.Open a bottle, sit back, chill, and Exchange when it all comes together.....0
