TransUnion

Lenders will use the TransUnion data, not the number, and generate their own in-house rating. No-one sees the TransUnion number except you. As such making sure the data on your reports is correct is the most important thing - the "score" is more or less irrelevant. Additionally the "advice" TransUnion gives is pretty generic and will often not be applicable, as every lender will have different criteria they look for is potential customers. Telling someone to "get a mortgage" will only be seen positively by lenders whose ideal customer is "someone with a mortgage" for example.dahj said:
Some providers do use the CRAs for in-house scoring, so your comment is inaccurate.PRAISETHESUN said:The advice TransUnion is meaningless - sure it may improve your TransUnion score, but since no-one except for you ever sees it it has no bearing on the real world. Having or not having a mortgage can be both a positive and a negative in the eyes of different lenders - only they know for sure, and they definitely won't be telling you their commercial secrets...0
