Awaiting CCJ - How long?

Options
Long story short have had a debt with Lloyd's TSB for some time. Original default date as per Equifax and TU is December 2014. I stopped receiving letters about it about 3 years ago and buried head in sand. I have no clue who the debt is now with although since I have got my s*it together and have the money to pay it off if they contact me. I have been waiting and waiting for a court order to come through for a CCJ. I would then pay it within the 30 days. End of. Thing is I still haven't heard anything and there is nothing listed under CCJs on my CR. Given it is due to drop off in December, when can expect to hear from the Courts? Many Thanks.

They'll have until it's statute barred.  When was the debt last acknowledged?

It was last acknowledged in November 2014. Default as of December 2014. On equifax it shows no data/unreported from Jan 2015. On TU just shows default as of December 2014.

That was my understanding, yes. But didn't know whether as a general rule they waited until the last possible day or whether proceedings were start prior to that last possible day.

    There's no general rule.

Some will issue them as and when they can, some will save up batches and do them all at the same time.

Some will wait to see if you get round to paying them of your own volition before spending time and money in taking you to court.

And of course, some won't go down the CCJ route at all if the value's not worth it.

It's 2k so I would think they probably would. Many thanks for all your help. Will brace myself for Dec/Jan.
  • Very close to becoming stature barred.Personally i think it very unlikely you will hear anything. Golden rule: if they're not bothering you, don't bother them.
