How to find a reputable E-commerce Accountant

most readers would interpret "Any advice on how to find one in the Birmingham area would be much appreciated." as meaning can someone recommend a Birmingham accountant based upon experience of having used one.
to find an accountant you simply look on the member lists of the professional bodies and you ask them if they have e commerce experience.
You have no way to judge the truthfulness of their answer without impartial evidence from someone else giving you an account of dealing with them, ie "a recommendation".
the only professional bodies that are worth considering are
ICAEW: https://www.icaew.com/about-icaew/find-a-chartered-accountant
ACCA: https://www.accaglobal.com/an/en/member/find-an-accountant.html?isocountry=GB
or (at a push and only if running a practice themselves) CIMA:
alternatively, use one of the find an accountant websites, the obvious being "unbiased" as you can ask for e commerce experience when listing your requirements

oldbikebloke you seem to be the only one who doesn’t understand. I’ve posted this question elsewhere and received some very good advice and they understand the question perfectly. No direct recommendations of accountants, as that’s not what I want. I wouldn’t trust a Joe Bloggs accountant recommendation, I want to do my own research and when I find a possible accountant that’s right for me, I can ask for a number of references from them directly, plus do my own research on them online looking at reviews etc. I just came for some advice, there’s really no need to take the tread off course and suggest I’m asking for direct recommendations and breaking forum rules. I’m really not interested in arguing with you or anyone else on this forum and I simply won’t entertain it I’m afraid. If anyone else has something helpful to comment it would be much appreciated...however I fear that this thread has unfortunately gone off course now so I may have to repost. Apologies to those who have been very helpful.
