Avro smart meter support
Given that smart meters are supposed to help save consumers money I felt this was relevant.
I recently switched to Avro. Shortly afterwards I received a request to provide meter readings. I queried why my SMETS2 smart meter couldn't do that for me.
The response was that Avro don't currently support smart meters. I figured this was odd as Ofgem recently lifted their new-customer ban, which was put in place due to Avro failing to join the Smart Meter programme.
I looked in their Q&A and found the following:
"If you have a SMETS2 meter we will automatically register your meter through the Smart Metering Network and update your In Home Display. We will be able to take remote readings from your Smart Meter. This process will be completed within 14 days of your supply going live with us and you don't need to contact us to arrange this"
I inferred from this that they fully support smart meters and contacted Avro CS to query why I have to submit monthly readings via their website.
The response was that they are able to remotely take readings but they can't actually do anything with them. They are still working on getting remote readings into their meter database - a process which is they "anticipate being ready in the next few months" - a nice open-ended estimate.
Personally, I think their wording is deliberately vague. They imply smart meter support and neglect to mention that they can't actually do anything with the data. Really, who cares if they can read your meter remotely, if they can't actually do anything with the reading?

I am experiencing exactly the same issue with the same feedback from Avro 8 months later, website reporting they support 2nd gen smart meters and them saying they will in the next few months0

You can check whether smart meter data can be pulled from your meter by going to the N3rgy.com website. Use the ‘I am a consumer’ link. You will need the MPAN from a statement and the number on the bottom of your IHD. N3rgy.com uses its own Adaptor: it follows that if consumption data can be seen then your SMETS2 meters are just fine. The issue is then the link between the supplier and The DCC.
