Hi - can anyone help? I have today received a parcel that contains a new Samsung Mobile Phone and a pair of headphones and a phone case. None of these things were ordered by me. I am concerned as there is no indication as to who the sender was other than barcodes and the only way to operate the phone is to call a number - which I am not prepared to do. I believe that I may be entitled to the phone as it was addressed to me - however I am concerned that if it is used and the operating company has both my address and my bank details then they could take a lot of money from me. Any thoughts?

How did it arrive?  Mobiles as they are expensive will come by courier and have to be signed for.  It should have the courier's company name on the other package.

Sorry no doubt this will be a scam.   Someone will call saying it belongs to them and ask for it.  They could well have got a phone contract out in your name.  Do not give the phone to anyone calling for it.  

Also sorry no you are not entitled to keep it unless you pay for the phone.  And if the scammer has got a contract out in your name the company will want their phone or money for it.

Does it have a sim card?

zebracar - There are examples of this scam on the web - goggle and read up on it.

I have heard of this and it is quite scary, most of the time the person who has ordered will wait for it and try and intercept it and pretend to live there. Let us know what happens OP.
