Recommendations for a Good Boiler Thermostat

Having hellish problems with my Salus Controls RT310i stat and the android app too - ive never really gelled with the mobile app not because its not intuitive but because it just doesnt seem to do what I want and is unresponsive despite a good internet connection etc. Plenty of online reviews from other people saying these salus thermostats are truly rubbish (hit and miss, no support, nobody answers the phone at Salus etc) so really I am now looking at ditching the ruddy thing and buying something new....something easy to set up, control.and above all works when I want it to work!. My Boiler is a new Valliant. Can people offers any good recommendations. I am not overly fussed about controllng from my phone (not keen on relying on heating that relies on internet connections).
I tried an email address for Salus but that kicked back saying "email no longer in use" and you cant fill in their online tech support form because it constantly asks you if you are a robot and so you go round in circles. Are companies getting better or worse for customer service in the UK? Technically I am a luddite.

I use the Honeywell Evohome system (with motorised valves on each radiator), and it works well. I believe they have a smart thermostat also, without the Evohome extra functionality.
As a WFH I've setup the Evohome to only heat the room I work from during the day, then kid's bedrooms in afternoons etc. It's reduced gas usage a bit, which all helps!
I installed the Owl Intuition system at my previous house, which probably gives enough functionality for what you need, also pretty good.
