Turning on of storage heaters affecting time of Economy 7 rate switch?

Hello folks
I live in a small flat and I have storage heaters - and up to now they have not yet been turned on for the winter.
Recently I've been watching my meter to see exactly when the switch from day rate to night rate happens and it seems to be around 1.27am and then continuing on the cheap rate until 8.27am-ish.
This has been consistent over the last few days.
Today I turned on one of my storage heaters and I noticed it starting to heat up at 11.30pm.
Naturally I was bit concerned that the heaters were coming on 2 hours before the cheaper rate started, but when I popped out and looked at the meter I saw it already WAS on the cheaper rate. The switch to the night rate had already happened. At around 11.30pm.
I'm baffled!
Does the turning on of the storage heaters somehow affect the time of the rate-switch?
I can think of no other explanation.
The switch to cheaper night rate was previously happening at 1.27am.
I flip the switch of the storage heaters and they start heating up at 11.30 - and, on checking the meter, I notice the switch to night rate has already happened at that time.
Any ideas?
Thanks

What sort of meter? Clockwork switched or tele-switched?
If it's 1.27am, then probably a clockwork one that is out by 27m, or 1 hr 27m.
What region are you, what DNO?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks for responding macman
The meter is teleswitched.
I live near Epping. I believe my DNO is UK Power Networks.
My current supplier is Bulb.
I'm just baffled at the apparent connection between turning on my storage heaters and the significant change in rate switching time!0 -
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
Thanks.0 -
There is no possible connection.

If you're in the London area (first two digits on the second line of the S number on your bill are 12) the cheap rate times are 2230 - 0030 and 0230 - 0730 GMT which can be a bit confusing. In the Eastern area (code 10) it's seven hours somewhere between 2300 and 0700 GMT. Teleswitch times can vary by +/- 15 minutes so you need to check carefully. The time won't be changed by switching on any appliances.0

Yes I knew there was 15 minute variance, but it's just my observations here that are baffling.
It was switching to cheap at around 1.20 - 1.30am for the several preceding nights that I observed it.
Then I turned the storage heater on, and Boom - the switch happened at 11.30pm.
There's no logical reason for it. I assume there must be something wrong with my observations, but the observations were straightforward, without much scope for error, and this is indeed what I observed.
Och well.
A mystery!0 -
Hi,have you tried turning it off again before 11.30 switch on, to see if it reverts back to 1.27?0
