  • Thank you very much for your replies. It's been such a great help and never informative.
    Thank you
  • I'm trying to decide between Dimplex Quantum and Dimplex XLE Slimline myself (or Creda TSRE which I'm guessing are the same but just re-badged). Does anyone know whether Quantum are worth the extra money? What does the extra actually get you?

More ‘learning’ ability for weather changes and lifestyle but main ones are WiFi control, fan only heat delivery and single supply option.

Thanks very much @danrv - very helpful. As @Gerry1 mentioned earlier the information on the Dimplex website is a bit confusing. But under "construction" both the Quantum and the XLE are listed as having "... a powder coated steel casing with high heat retention storage core containing high density magnetite storage cells, insulated with microporous silica and calcium silicate."

So it does look like the extra cost of the Quantum only gets you a bit of extra functionality. I'm thinking of taking the plunge with the XLE so if anyone has them installed it would be great to read any feedback.

Yes, the XLE is ‘intelligent’ like the Quantum. For me it would be down to which one leaks heat the least.
Also being able to zone the heaters is a plus. My warm air heater is very easy to adjust with one thermostat on the wall.
With several non WiFi models, the only combined control would be switching off the E7 supply.
