Skype Desktop (Windows 10) not receiving notifications.

Hi.
My dad that is using Skype on Desktop (Windows 10) is not receiving message notifications when I send him a message. Neither when online or offline.
I've used TeamViewer to check this on his laptop and the settings are all set up to receive notifications on his Skype.
I'm at a loss. has anyone got any idea? Perhaps something I overlooked?
I notice than when I sent a test message when we were both online the 'notice message icon in the bottom right of the laptop screen' changes colour for a split second. But it's really subtle and unless you were actually staring at it you wouldn't even notice (and my dad certainly won't).
When I send a message and my dad is offline there is no notification at all when he logs in.
I have also tried turning Focus assist on and off and that makes no difference,
For clarity - when I call it works as normal and the incoming call box pops up as it should.
Fight the WEF.

Do you have Notifications switched on for Windows 10 in general? If you've turned Notifications off within Windows 10, it might be why you aren't seeing notifications for Skype.0

Yes those are all on. In fact I even turned the Skype notifications to 'Top Priority'.I think it's yet another case of something working okay until Windows 10 decides to do one of it's infamous updates and !!!!!! everything all up once again.Fight the WEF.0

Good question ... it is still possible to download Skype standalone rather than install from the Windows 10 Store.
