Halifax valuation timescales

Hi all
we applied for a Halifax mortgage on the 5th October and were told on the 6th that it was approved subject to valuation which would be instructed next. As of 9th October the agent hasn’t heard from them. How long does it typically take? Our buyer wants to complete on the 30th October and seller said they can work to that date but obviously we can’t exchange till we get a mortgage offer. 

Also if anyone has recent experience, how long between valuation and offer? We are borrowing less than 50% so the broker said she is not concerned about the valuation because even if they value it lower, we’ll still meet the LTV required for the loan.

Get your estate agent to phone esurv and book the surgery themselves. It’s quicker and easier.

Didn’t realise they could do that. Will call them tomorrow.

I went for the basic valuation (desktop, £200) that got done a week after application and offer was Issued the same day.

I’ve applied with Halifax. 
17/8/20-house viewed
18/8/20-offer accepted
21/8/20- full application submitted
7/9/20- final documents submitted
15/9/20- mortgage approved subject to valuation 
17/9/20- Valuation booked
25/9/20- valuation passed and survey completed 
28/9/20- mortgage offer received

Has your solicitor commenced work on your case yet?

Yes, all the searches came back last week and additional enquiries have been raised.

Halifax told me it would be 3-5 days for the surveyor to make contact. By the end of day 5, they hadn't contacted the EA so I got the number from Halifax and gave it to the EA. The next morning it was booked in for the following week.

I have just given the estate agent the phone number and he said he is happy to call them. Fingers crossed we have a similar result.

Anyone can advise on how long it takes for Halifax to issue the offer once the EWS1 form has been submitted through the broker to Halifax? Just sent it through this morning, so I hope it will be quick!
