Does anyone here foster guide dogs?

We’ve been accepted, home checked and have done part 1 of 2 training sessions. I’m very excited about the whole thing - we’re not able to have a dog of our own as we both work full time hours so this seems perfect. Plus you are helping out a really worthwhile cause at the same time.
Does anyone here do this, and if so I’d love to hear your experiences!?

My son and his partner have done this.
They had a gorgeous dog during the first lockdown and were sorry to see her go.
she has restarted her training and is now living with someone else but they have her for holiday periods.
prior to that they had another one who completed her training and was then assigned to a visually challenged person.
i would say, its hard to see them go, even i find it so.
its also hard to see them loving being an ordinary animal and having to suppress their natural instincts to be a working guide dog too.
but overall its very rewarding.
i think there are two tiers, puppy walkers who have the dogs from very young, then foster homes where the dog goes to work every day- training- and returns in the evening.
