Formal demand from LCS
Hi,
I have received a final demand for £500.00 for 3 months of energy used in a house I rented out in 2018. When the tenants moved out I paid eon for energy during the time they left and the house was sold but LSC are stating they are representing a green energy company.
I just wanted to check what I should do now. Should I contact LSC or go direct? Very confused by this and why it's taken 2 years.
Thanks

Hmmm - It seems that the tenants chose to move the energy account to a Green Energy Co., in which case that company was legally the incumbent supplier and any following owner/tenant had to use them until they had established an account, which then allowed them to change supplier. It seems that you missed this step and immediately appointed Eon, but because you bounced the system the Green Energy Co.were still your legal supplier and should be paid - The Good News is that Eon will have to return the money you paid to them for this same energy0

Not sure what would cost 500 with a green energy supplier or what they would be charging for.
I guess I will need to call them, but don't see why I should pay two suppliers so something seems like a mistake.

OK - This seems to be a real puzzle, but suggest you don't use the phone - Email or Write to them so there is a paper trail.

PLEASE don't phone them ; once they have your number the hounding will start! Write only asking for a FULL explanation of how the charges have arisen with supposed dates of supply. .1

Would the email ask for confirmation/evidence of the energy used etc? If there is a contract with the tenants, which is a puzzle anyway due to EON, is that contract based on the house address and not the people who signed the contract?
