    When is her 17th birthday? If she is buying the car 'today', she cannot drive it until she is, nor can she insure it. So you'll have to insure it yourself until she turns 17, unless you SORN it in the meantime.

    If you can keep it off the road untill she is 17 then take out 1 days insurance and get it back to your house then SORN it.  She can take out car insurance in her own name when she is 17 as a provisional driver.
