Thanks in advance.
i have a GOS20 optimist. I’ve cleaned it all out, checked everything is in the right place but there is no mist coming from it. I don’t think the fan is working, does anyone have experience of fixing / replacing this themselves ?

If anyone's wondering, I assume this is a Dimplex Optmyst 😀

Are you sure it is the fan? I gather the ultrasonic "mister" transducer can be prone to fail but maybe you are certain the fan isn't going round?rosie14 said:Thanks in advance.

I don't have one but researched them in some detail for a project using one of the many similar mist transducers you can buy quite cheaply. Dimplex do list most / all parts but any that are not proprietary can be bought far cheaper elsewhere. From memory the fans are similar / identical to those used in most desktop computers. So it may come down to do you want an expensive manufacturers part or are you willing / able to improvise.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the transducer too. I tested the fan by putting in the small brush they give you, definitely not going round.
